KPA hands over Sh39m multi-purpose hall to Mazeras Girls School in Kwale

The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) has handed over a Sh39 million state-of-the-art multi-purpose hall to Mazeras Memorial Girls School as part of its corporate social investment plan.
Boasting a capacity of 1,000 seats and equipped with modern amenities, the multipurpose hall is poised to become the epicentre of academic events, cultural activities, and community gatherings.

Its unveiling symbolises a beacon of hope for Mazeras Memorial School and the surrounding community, heralding a new era of collaboration, creativity, and progress.
At the official handover ceremony this week, Benjamin Tayari, Chairman of the Kenya Ports Authority, underscored the Authority's commitment to community development through investing in the project.
Tayari hailed the completion of the multipurpose hall as a significant achievement, reflecting the Authority's dedication to uplifting local communities.
In a statement to the press, Tayari highlighted the multipurpose hall as just one of many initiatives undertaken by the Kenya Port Authority in Kwale County as part of its corporate social investment plan.

“I want to thank the school's management for their cooperation in realising the project and I pledge ongoing support for future endeavours benefiting the community,” said Tayari.
The Director of Education, Bernard Mwalukuku Salimu, emphasised the multifaceted importance of the hall for school activities and community events alike.
From academic pursuits to cultural showcases, dining, and even hosting national sports events, the multipurpose hall promises to be a versatile asset for both the school and the wider community.
“I urge students to focus on their studies to achieve better results in the upcoming national exams,” said Salimu expressing confidence in the expertise of their teachers to guide them towards success.
The school's Principal Faith Waithaka extended her heartfelt gratitude to Chairman Tayari and the Kenya Ports Authority for their unwavering support in fulfilling the institution's long-standing request for a multipurpose hall.
Waithaka highlighted the hall's potential to nurture talents in sports and pledged continued collaboration with the Authority to maximize its benefits for the students and the community at large.
The construction of the multipurpose hall, a five-year endeavour, stands as the largest and most costly community initiative to date, set to positively impact over 1,200 students within Mazeras Memorial School.
